Andy Murray speaks of "brutal" conditions

Andy Murray bemoans the windy conditions during his four-set US Open semi-final win over Tomas Berdych this evening.

Andy Murray has described the windy conditions during his US Open semi-final against Tomas Berdych this evening as "brutal".

Both players found it hard to judge the flight of the ball on occasions, while play was stopped numerous times because of objects being blown onto the court.

Speaking after the match Murray, who overcame Berdych in four sets, revealed that he had never played in such severe conditions.

"It was brutal and hard to describe," said the 25-year-old. "You had to get yourself right for every single point. It was so hard to serve. I wasn't trying for aces, I was just concentrating on getting my first serve in.

"It was some of the hardest conditions I've ever played in and I come from Scotland!"

Murray will play either Novak Djokovic or David Ferrer in tomorrow's final.
