Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish wants the FA to investigate an alleged elbow by Arsenal striker Robin van Persie on Carlos Cuellar during Sunday's FA Cup tie.

Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish has said that he would like the FA to investigate an alleged elbow by Arsenal striker Robin van Persie during Sunday's FA Cup tie at the Emirates Stadium.

The Dutchman appeared to elbow Villa defender Carlos Cuellar in the 64th minute of the Gunners' 3-2 win.

Asked whether he would like the FA to review the incident, McLeish said: "If it was an elbow in the face, yes I would like them to look at it.

"I don't like to point the finger at players, but it's something you don't like to see.

"I saw it in real time and I haven't seen it again on television, but it looked like he hit him in the face with his elbow. Cuellar is not someone to go down if he hasn't been hurt."

Villa host Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League on Wednesday.
