Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal are set to be working without the injured Gabriel Martinelli for Saturday's Premier League contest with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

The Brazilian attacker sustained an ankle injury in a challenge from Brighton & Hove Albion's Moises Caicedo last weekend, and it has been announced that he will miss the Gunners' final two games of the season as he recuperates over the next several weeks.

Long-term knee victims Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny will welcome Martinelli into the infirmary, while William Saliba (back) and Oleksandr Zinchenko (calf) will watch on from the sidelines too.

With Martinelli absent, Leandro Trossard would normally be the number one candidate to come into the fray, but the Belgian's cameo against his old club in last weekend's 3-0 loss left a lot to be desired.

In contrast, Reiss Nelson was a bright spark in the second half, but Trossard should still edge out the Englishman to join Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka up top.

Amid reports of an imminent move to Bayer Leverkusen, Granit Xhaka will start in what could be his penultimate game for Arsenal, as Martin Odegaard captains the Gunners once more.

Despite a couple of positive performances in the number six role, Jorginho could now make way for the returning Thomas Partey, having only lasted an hour during the loss to Brighton.

Given Saliba and Zinchenko's afflictions, Kieran Tierney and Jakub Kiwior ought to continue in the backline with Gabriel Magalhaes, Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; White, Kiwior, Gabriel, Tierney; Odegaard, Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Jesus, Trossard
