Barcelona injury, suspension news vs. Alaves: Will Dani Olmo be fit for La Liga clash?

Sports Mole looks at Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of their La Liga clash with Alaves.

Barcelona will be looking to make it successive wins in La Liga when they host Alaves on Sunday afternoon.

The Catalan outfit were 7-1 winners over Valencia in Spain's top flight last weekend, and they currently sit third in the La Liga table, seven points behind the leaders Real Madrid.

Hansi Flick's side were in Champions League action on Wednesday evening, drawing 2-2 with Atalanta BC, and they have finished second in the overall table behind Liverpool.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Alaves, who are 17th in Spain's top flight, one point ahead of the relegation zone.


Andreas Christensen

Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: February 22 (vs. Las Palmas)

Christensen, who has only played once this season due to an Achilles problem, is currently on the sidelines with a calf issue, and he will not be available for selection for the next three weeks or so.

Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: February 1 (vs. Alaves)

Olmo was again unable for selection against Atalanta in the Champions League due to a muscular problem, but there is a slight chance that the Spain international could be back in the fold for the clash with Alaves.

Possible return date: Unknown

Bernal suffered an ACL injury against Rayo Vallecano in the league earlier this term, and he is out for the season, with the youngster working to be ready for pre-season ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Barcelona will be missing their number one goalkeeper Ter Stegen for the remainder of the season due to the serious knee injury that he suffered in the clash with Villarreal on September 22.

Possible return date: February 6 (vs. Valencia)

Martinez suffered a hamstring problem during the Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid, but the centre-back is in the latter stages of his recovery and could be back against Valencia in the Copa del Rey.
