Paris Saint-Germain could reportedly look to revive their interest in Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar when the January transfer window opens.

Paris Saint-Germain could reportedly look to revive their interest in Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar when the January transfer window opens.

The Ligue 1 champions identified the 27-year-old as one of their primary centre-back targets over the summer and they attempted to recruit the Slovakia international on deadline day.

A recent report claims that PSG made an offer of €70m (£60.5m) for Skriniar, but they were unable to strike a late deal as Inter had no intentions of selling the defender.

According to L'Equipe, Skriniar remains on PSG's radar and they will consider making another move in the winter window.

Inter are unlikely to receive another offer as substantial as PSG's summer bid in January, as Skriniar has less than 12 months remaining on his current contract.

The former Sampdoria man will therefore be allowed to negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs from January onward if he decides against extending his current deal at Inter.

Skriniar, who has also attracted interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, joined Inter in the summer of 2017 and has since made a total of 219 appearances for the Italian giants across all competitions.

The 6ft 2in defender was a crucial cog in Antonio Conte's machine which won the 2020-21 Serie A title, the club's first top-flight crown for 11 years.

Skriniar, who has been capped 54 times by Slovakia, has also won the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana during his time at San Siro.

While PSG were unable to recruit Skriniar on deadline day, they managed to complete the signing of Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler in the final few hours of the window.

The 25-year-old leaves Valencia after 17 years with his boyhood club, and has penned a five-year contract at the Parc des Princes in a deal believed to be worth £16.2m.

Soler becomes the second Spanish midfielder to join Christophe Galtier's side this summer, after Fabian Ruiz completed his move a day earlier from Napoli for around £20m.

Vitinha, Renato Sanches and Nordi Mukiele have also signed for the Parisian outfit on permanent deals this summer, while Hugo Ekitike has joined on a season-long loan deal.
