West Ham United's proposed loan deal for Fikayo Tomori reportedly falls through after the Chelsea man decided to stay at Stamford Bridge.

West Ham United's proposed loan move for Chelsea centre-back Fikayo Tomori reportedly broke down in the dying minutes of the transfer window, with the Englishman deciding to stay and fight for his place at Stamford Bridge.

Tomori was strongly linked with an exit from the Blues during the transfer window and West Ham were believed to have been considering a late swoop for the 22-year-old.

Furthermore, with Chelsea failing to offload the out-of-favour Antonio Rudiger, speculation mounted over a potential transfer away for Tomori before the 11pm deadline.

However, the Daily Mail reports that with 10 minutes left before the transfer window shut, a deal for Tomori broke down after the defender instead chose to stay with Chelsea and prove his worth to Frank Lampard.

Tomori has made two starts in the EFL Cup but is yet to feature from the off in a Premier League game this term, coming on for the second half of Chelsea's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.
