Mixu Paatelainen planning Dundee United stay

Manager Mixu Paatelainen confirms that he is not planning to walk away from relegated Dundee United.

Mixu Paatelainen has revealed that he has no intention of walking away from Dundee United.

The Terrors were relegated from the Scottish Premiership last night following a 2-1 defeat at the hands of rivals Dundee.

However, rather than jump ship, the Finnish coach is determined to reverse the club's fortunes next term.

"No, I don't give up. We came here this season. The ship was sinking already," he told reporters.

"We tried to tackle those problems personnel-wise. The January window is difficult and we have improved, just not enough."

The 49-year-old is contracted to Tannadice Park until the summer of 2018.
