Steve Bruce: 'Draw feels like a defeat'

Hull City boss Steve Bruce believes that his side's draw with West Bromwich Albion feels more like a defeat following Matej Vydra's late leveller.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has admitted that his side's draw with West Bromwich Albion feels like a defeat after Matej Vydra scored a late equaliser for the home team.

The Tigers dominated the majority of the game and took the lead in the 28th minute when Jake Livermore found the net.

Bruce's side could have doubled their advantage before Vydra's leveller, but Ben Foster made a great save to deny Tim Huddlestone and then Ahmed Elmohamady which proved to be crucial.

Bruce told BBC Sport: "It feels in the dressing room afterwards like we have lost the game. I can't remember my goalkeeper making a save in the second half. We frustrated West Brom and counter-attacked them and Jake Livermore took his goal well.

"We had the best chance to seal it and at 2-0 we would have put the game to bed but Ben Foster has made a great double save.

"Maybe I'm nit-picking but we're frustrated and disappointed. Before the game we probably would have taken a point. We're 20 points at Christmas so we're bang on schedule."

Hull are 12th in the Premier League following their draw at The Hawthorns.
