Japan midfielder Shinji Kagawa insists that his back injury is not serious.

Japan midfielder Shinji Kagawa has quelled fears that a back injury will keep him on the sidelines for a long period.

The 23-year-old playmaker pulled out of his country's 2014 World Cup qualifier against Iraq on Monday, but he is expected to be fit for Manchester United's clash with Wigan Athletic on Satrday.

"It [the injury] happened in yesterday's practice. I was holding the ball and went to make a move and in that instant it started to hurt. I won't take long to recover," he told Nikkan Sports.

Kagawa has scored one goal for United this season.
