Report: Patrice Evra votes for Luiz Suarez for PFA Player of the Year award

Manchester United defender Patrice Evra reportedly votes for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez as his nomination for the PFA Player of the Year award.

Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has voted for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez for the PFA Player of the Year award, according to a report.

The duo were involved in a bitter race row in 2011 for which Suarez was banned for eight games and handed a £40,000 fine for racially abusing the Frenchman.

However, that hasn't stopped Evra from casting the Uruguayan as his nomination to win the prestigious award for his excellent performances this season.

A source told The Mirror: "Suarez is an outstanding footballer, but no-one at United could believe it when Patrice voted for him.

"It shows the measure of the man that he didn't allow what happened between them to cloud his judgement. He clearly doesn't bear a grudge."

Suarez has notched 29 goals in the Premier League this season.
