Manchester City will walk away from a move for Harry Kane unless Tottenham Hotspur reduce their asking price, according to a report.

Manchester City will reportedly walk away from a move for Harry Kane unless Tottenham Hotspur reduce their asking price for the England captain.

Kane has informed Spurs that he wants to seek pastures new during this summer's transfer window, and Man City are believed to be the favourites to sign the centre-forward.

There have been suggestions of a £100m bid for the 27-year-old, who scored 33 times and registered 17 assists in 49 appearances for his North London club during the 2020-21 campaign.

However, Spurs are thought to value Kane in excess of £150m, and they are in a strong position to negotiate, with the forward's contract not due to expire until June 2024.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Man City are not prepared to meet Tottenham's current valuation and will walk away unless there is movement from the capital club.

The report claims that the Citizens are prepared to break their transfer record to sign Kane, but they could also wait until next summer to bring the Englishman to the Etihad Stadium despite their need for a striker.

Chelsea and Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in his services.
