Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo hints that he is ready to leave Old Trafford during the summer transfer window.

Marcos Rojo has suggested that he may have to leave Manchester United in order to save his international career.

The 29-year-old made just six appearances in all competitions during the most recent campaign, and it has been claimed that United are ready to part ways with the defender.

The player is seemingly ready to go along with United's wishes and is aware that he must secure regular football next season in order to reclaim his place in the Argentina squad.

Rojo told El Dia: "My first ambition is to return to the national team. I am still young and I have a lot to give. I know that if I try hard, work and take care of myself then I can get back to fight for a position.

"I am calm about the Copa America. I spoke to [Lionel] Scaloni two months ago and he told me he had me in mind but that I had to have continuity in the United team.

"I could not achieve that, so I understand his position and I respect the decision. Now I am going to recover and rest, have a vacation, and then return to give it my all to get back in the Argentina squad next season."

Rojo still has just over two years left on his United contract.
