Francisco Punal retains belief

Osasuna captain Francisco Punal is confident that the Spanish outfit can overcome their poor start to the season.

Osasuna captain Francisco Punal has insisted that the Spanish outfit 'believe in themselves' despite a disappointing start to the season.

A total of 10 points from their 13 matches has left Osasuna in 19th place in the table, but they are just two points from safety.

"We believe in ourselves, the way we play and what we have to do. We have faith that sooner or later, things will turn out right for us," he told reporters at a press conference.

"There's no other way for us than to get stuck into our work and wait for things to go well. This isn't a new situation for us. We are where we are, it's difficult and it's going to remain difficult.

"It's not going to be easy. We have to be strong and clear that it's going to be a long and determined fight and we cannot shy away from that."

Punal has spent his entire professional career with Osasuna.
