Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos: 'I played poorly against Juventus'

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos says that he "played poorly" against Juventus.

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has admitted that he played poorly during their Champions League defeat to Italian giants Juventus.

The centre-back - who was asked to play in midfield during the semi-final clash - was criticised on social media afterwards, and has since conceded that some of the comments may have been justified.

"It was a bad game in general. I played poorly, but this does not worry me," Ramos told reporters. "I trust coach Carlo Ancelotti and he trusts me.

"There is still a second leg to go and we can turn the tie in our favour. In this position - midfield - we run more, but I will not highlight any individual error of anyone.

"It won't be hard at all to play better at the Santiago Bernabeu next Wednesday than we did today. I'm sure everything will change. Giving up is not my nature, it's not philosophy and it's not in DNA."

Ancelotti has defended Ramos's display, insisting that he "did a good job" playing out of position.
