Barcelona and Real Madrid are both monitoring Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek, according to a report.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to go head to head for the signature of Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek in this summer's transfer window.

Barca have already secured the services of Ajax's Frenkie de Jong ahead of the 2019-2020 campaign, while the Catalan giants continue to be linked with teenage centre-back Matthijs de Ligt.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, the Spanish champions are also tracking Van de Beek. Madrid, meanwhile, have also been credited with an interest by the same publication.

The 22-year-old, who is a five-time Netherlands international, has scored 17 times and registered 13 assists in 56 appearances in all competitions for his Dutch club this season.

The attacking midfielder has a contract at the Johan Cruyff Arena until the summer of 2022.
