Dimitri Payet inspires West Ham United comeback at Norwich City

West Ham United score twice late on to deny Norwich City a much-needed win in Saturday's Premier League match at Carrow Road.

Dimitri Payet celebrated signing a new contract with West Ham United by inspiring the Hammers to an unlikely late comeback away at Norwich City in this afternoon's Premier League match at Carrow Road.

Chances were few and far between in a scrappy first half as both sides were restricted to long-range tries that failed to trouble either keeper.

Norwich had probably just edged the opening period and they started the second half on top, with Cameron Jerome just failing to pick out strike partner Steven Naismith before the deadlock was broken in the 54th minute.

Robbie Brady won the ball off Michail Antonio and placed the ball past Adrian with his weaker right foot and Norwich were soon celebrating again.

This time it was Wes Hoolahan on target, sweeping home from close range after Steven Naismith's deflected shot broke his way.

Frenchman Payet pulled one back for West Ham in the 74th minute by turning home Victor Moses's parried effort and then set up Mark Noble for a pinpoint equaliser moments later to leave Carrow Road stunned.

The visitors had the clearest chance to win it in the closing stages, but substitute Emmanuel Emenike failed to find the net from Andy Carroll's flick-on.

Norwich still end their five-game losing streak, but they remain in the bottom three behind Newcastle United on goal difference, while West Ham drop a place to seventh.
