Southampton fail to convert their dominance over Wigan Athletic into a half-time lead at St Mary's.

Southampton and Wigan Athletic remain deadlocked after 45 minutes of play at St Mary's Stadium.

The Saints will be disappointed that they have not yet been able to edge ahead, having dominated the match so far.

Rickie Lambert should have marked his first Premier League start with a goal on 16 minutes, however his tame header was comfortably saved by Ali Al-Habsi.

The Oman international also produced a good save to deny Adam Lallana, while Jay Rodriguez and Jose Fonte have spurned good opportunities.
