Yossi Benayoun insists that he will try to impress Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo in pre-season.

Yossi Benayoun has claimed that he will fight for a place in the Chelsea first team after returning to Stamford Bridge from Arsenal.

The former Liverpool midfielder spent last season on loan at the Emirates but now faces an uphill struggle to force his way back into Roberto Di Matteo's side.

"Now I am back at Chelsea for pre-season, the hard part of football, and I'm trying to do my best in front of Robbie [Di Matteo], so we will just have to see what happens in the future," Benayoun told the club's official website.

The 32-year-old joined the Blues from Anfield in 2010 but has since struggled to hold a firm place in the first team.
