Mick McCarthy thanks Emmanuel Frimpong

Mick McCarthy thanks Emmanuel Frimpong for his contribution during his loan spell with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy has issued his thanks to Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong.

The 20-year-old has had a his loan spell at Molineux cut short because of a cruciate knee ligament injury.

McCarthy has expressed his disappointment at losing Sports Mole-sponsored Frimpong, but is grateful for the contribution that he made to his side in five appearances.

"I have spoken to Arsene Wenger and thanked him for letting us have him and I know our fans enjoyed watching him play," McCarthy told the club's official website.

"As ever we just have to get on with it now and someone else will get a chance to stake their claim in the team.

"All of us at Wolves would like to thank Manny for his contribution and wish him the very best for his recovery."

Frimpong will miss the rest of the season and is unlikely to be fit in time for the start of the new campaign in August.
