Report: Arsenal want Mario Suarez

A report claims that Arsenal want to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez in the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old is currently in his second spell with Atletico, having initially departed the capital outfit for Mallorca in the early part of his career.

Since returning in 2010, Suarez has made more than 100 league appearances for the Spanish champions, but the midfielder has been overlooked by Diego Simeone for a number of key matches.

According to Tutto Mercato, Arsenal have become aware that the Spaniard could leave the Vicente Calderon in January and are preparing to make their move.

A clutch of Italian clubs are also said to be monitoring proceedings.
