Arsene Wenger eager to keep Joel Campbell at Arsenal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reveals that he is eager for striker Joel Campbell to remain at the club.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he wants to keep Joel Campbell at the club.

The Costa Rica forward has been linked with Besiktas, Real Sociedad and Palermo this summer.

However, Wenger is eager for the 23-year-old to remain in his plans at the Emirates Stadium.

"At the moment he is here and personally I would like to keep him," the Frenchman told the club's official website. "I will have to sit down with Joel because I rate him highly as a player and personally if he stays here I am very happy."

Campbell spent part of last season on loan at Villarreal, scoring one goal in 22 games for the Spaniards.
