Team News: Numerous changes for Aston Villa, Birmingham City ahead of League Cup derby

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has made four changes ahead of his side's League Cup third round derby against Birmingham City at Villa Park.

The home team's starting XI sees Ciaran Clark, Leandro Bacuna, Jordan Veretout and Rudy Gestede named to start the game.

Alan Hutton, Carles Gil, Carlos Sanchez and Jack Grealish are the ones to make way, though they are all named on the bench.

Meanwhile city rivals Birmingham have made three tweaks to their starting lineup, with David Cotterill and Neal Eardley omitted from the squad with injuries.

Paul Caddis and David Davis take their place, while the other change sees Andrew Shinnie dropped to the bench in favour of Jacques Maghoma.
