Monaco reportedly have a £51m fee accepted by Atletico Madrid to sign Colombian forward Falcao this summer.

Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao will reportedly have a medical at Monaco tomorrow ahead of a £51m move to the newly-promoted Ligue 1 side.

Falcao's future has been subject to persistent speculation in recent months, with Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City all linked with a move for the Colombian marksman.

According to reports in Spain a huge bid from Monaco has been accepted by Diego Simeone's side after they admitted defeat in their bid to keep the forward.

Monaco have wasted no time in doing business in the transfer market ahead of their return to the French top flight, with Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez joining from Porto for a combined £60m fee earlier this week.

Assistant Monaco coach Jean Petit confirmed Falcao was a target on Friday, telling Radio RCN: "Yes, we are expecting Falcao and four or five other players of his quality. We have spoken and we continue to speak with Falcao and his representatives.

"Negotiations are ongoing. We hope to seal a deal as soon as possible. Monaco need a player like Falcao because he can help us a lot and because he can attract other top players, and that's the best way of confirming our project is big and interesting.

"Signing Falcao is a big coup on sporting and media levels for French football."

The 27-year-old has scored 32 goals in 36 appearances so far this season.
