Barcelona boss Luis Enrique named FIFA Coach of the Year

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is named as the FIFA Coach of the Year for 2015 having guided the club to five trophies last year.

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has been named as the FIFA Coach of the Year for 2015.

The Spaniard took over at the Catalan club in May 2014 and went on to steer his side to a historic treble in his debut season at the helm.

He has since added the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup to his honours list, giving him a five-trophy haul in 2015.

Enrique was actually under pressure at one stage of last season following a dip in form and a reported falling-out with star player Lionel Messi, but he turned things around and went on to level Pep Guardiola's record of steering the club to 11 straight victories.

Helped by a prolific front three of Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez, Barcelona dominated domestic and European football, completing the treble with victory over Juventus in May's Champions League final.

Enrique edged out Bayern Munich boss Guardiola and Chile's Jorge Sampaoli, who guided his side to the Copa America title last summer, to the award.
