Bayern Munich end season on a high

Franck Ribery turns on the style and plays a role in all of Bayern Munich's goals as they stage a 4-3 comeback victory over Borussia Monchengladbach.

German champions Bayern Munich have ended their 2012-13 Bundesliga campaign with a 4-3 comeback victory over Borussia Monchengladbach away from home.

The victory saw the Bavarian giants become the first-ever side in the German top flight to break the 90-point mark and also set the record for the fewest goals conceded in Bundesliga history.

However, it was the hosts who made a dramatic start to the encounter and scored twice in the opening five minutes.

First Martin Stranzl headed home Juan Arango's cross in the third minute and then Mike Hanke latched on to Branimir Hrgota's pass to slot home past Manuel Neuer.

However, Bayern halved their deficit on seven minutes through Javi Martinez, who was nicely teed up by Franck Ribery to fire home from outside the Monchengladbach penalty box.

The flurry of goals at Borussia Park continued as Havard Nordtveit made it 3-1 to the home side in the 11th minute, Arango and Patrick Herrmann combining to set him up.

Bayern were back in the game in the 18th minute when Thomas Muller flicked the ball to Ribery, who drove home past Marc-Andre ter Stegen at the near post.

That saw Jupp Heynckes's team begin to control proceedings and press on for their third goal of the match, Arjen Robben coming closest to the equaliser five minutes before the break with a close-range effort that went wide.

The German champions eventually made it 3-3 eight minutes into the second half when Ribery volleyed home from outside the box after being teed up by Philipp Lahm.

Bayern completed their comeback just before the hour mark when Robben scored their fourth and final goal of the afternoon, volleying home from the centre of the Monchengladbach box after being set up by a Ribery cross.
