Juventus beat Bayern Munich 2-0 at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia thanks to a couple of goals from young debutant Andrea Favilli.

Andrea Favilli marked his Juventus debut with a couple of goals as the Italian champions beat German champions Bayern Munich 2-0 in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The 21-year-old, who signed from Ascoli last month, slotted home twice in the space of eight first-half minutes to settle the International Champions Cup clash.

Without the services of record signing Cristiano Ronaldo, Juve remained firm in the second 45 to kick off their pre-season campaign in winning style.

Favilli was almost up and running inside the opening three minutes, only for Sven Ulreich to produce a good save when the youngster was played through.

Bayern also looked lively early on, with Marcel Zylla forcing Mattia Perin into a smart stop on his debut, and the Italian keeper also did well to deny Serge Gnabry moments later.

Alex Sandro then picked out the side-netting from a good position, but Juventus did take the lead shortly after the half-hour mark through Favilli's impressive finish following a Bayern error in midfield.

Favilli rounded off another move before the interval to give the Serie A giants some breathing space, and the second half was all about keeping out the opposition.

A chance went begging for Kwasi Okyere Wriedt, who was denied by Perin, before Jeong Woo-yeong fired wide from the rebound.

Bayern struggled to test Perin or replacement Carlo Pinsoglio from that point on, however, meaning a positive start to pre-season for Juventus.

JUVENTUS: Perin (Pinsoglio 71'), De Sciglio, Rugani (Barzagli 54'), Chiellini (Caldara 54'), Alex Sandro, Marchisio (Fernandes 46'), Pjanic (Kastanos 71'), Emre Can (Fagioli 44'), Cancelo (Macek 71'), Favilli (Beltrame 54'), Bernardeschi (Pereira 59')

BAYERN MUNICH FIRST-HALF XI: Ulreich, Johansson, Martinez (Alaba 37'), Stasinic, Bernat, Will, Shabani, Zylla, Gnabry, Ribery, Wagner

BAYERN MUNICH SECOND-HALF XI: Ulreich (Hoffman 82'), Alaba, Jeong, Zaiser, Richards, Rafinha, Wreidt, Sanches, Coman, Robben, Meier
