Granada move out of La Liga drop zone with victory over Real Betis

Mikel Rico's strike gives Granada a shock win over high-flying Real Betis.

Granada have moved out of La Liga's bottom three with a 2-1 victory away at Real Betis.

The visitors took the lead in the eighth minute through Gabriel Torje when the Romanian winger struck across the keeper and into the corner of the net with his left foot.

Betis piled on the pressure as they searched for an equaliser and were rewarded in the 62nd minute. It was Ruben Castro who found the net from Alex Martinez's centre to restore parity.

However, Pepe Mel's side were denied a point by Mikel Rico, who found a way past Adrian San Miguel del Castillo to give the strugglers a welcome boost up the standings.
