Henning Berg relishing "different" challenge at Blackburn Rovers

Henning Berg is looking forward to trying to win promotion with Blackburn Rovers.

New Blackburn Rovers manager Henning Berg has said that he is looking forward to the "different" challenge he faces than previously in his managerial career.

Berg, who managed Lyn Oslo and Lillestrom before taking over from Steve Kean, has his sights set on promotion as soon as possible.

"I've been with two clubs in Norway," Sky Sports News quotes Berg as saying. "Lyn was a smaller club in the top Norwegian league which had a lot of young players looking to develop. It was more like a development club. That club was more like a selling club, selling players to Serie A and other big leagues.

"Then I went to Lillestrom which is more of an older club, one of the bigger clubs, but at that time was really struggling with money. So it was a big job in terms of turning everything round with big financial problems.

"Those two clubs I've had were not in the position to win leagues and I had to sell players to survive. To find and develop and sell players has been one of the good things that I've done. This is a little bit different. The main thing is to get results, the main thing is to achieve promotion."

Blackburn are currently just in the playoff spots in the Championship.
