Sami Hyypia wants Brighton & Hove Albion to match Bournemouth desire

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Sami Hyypia wants his players to match the enthusiasm and desire of Bournemouth when the two sides meet in the Championship this weekend.

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Sami Hyypia is wary ahead of his side's visit to high flyers Bournemouth, admitting that his players will have to match their enthusiasm and desire if they are to take anything from the game.

The German has warned his players about Bournemouth's 11-goal striker Callum Wilson, who he sees as a particularly dangerous player.

"[Wilson] tries to get in behind the back four all the time, he wants to stretch the opposition, try to get some balls there and with his movement in the box, he's a very dangerous player," Hyypia told the club's official website. "We need to be very careful with him; every team needs a goalscorer and he has been one for Bournemouth this season.

"We need to be as up for it as they are and match their enthusiasm and desire to play football. We need to make it difficult for them and when we are on the ball, get our confidence and play as well as we know we can and then we have a good chance to get something there.

"It doesn't matter who we play against, we need to learn to be careful at the beginning of the game; not to give them anything that will lift their confidence even higher; we need to be very concentrated from the start."

The ex-Bayer Leverkusen boss is finding life in the Championship difficult, with his Brighton side currently sitting one spot above the drop zone.
