Eddie Howe seeking further new signings at Bournemouth

Eddie Howe admits that trying to recruit players within Bournemouth's budget is proving to be a "never-ending battle".

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has acknowledged that he needs to add further depth to his squad before the transfer window closes.

The Cherries will compete in the top flight next season for the first time in their history, having won promotion from the Championship last time out.

Six new players have already been brought in this summer, with Artur Boruc, Sylvain Distin, Tyrone Mings, Adam Federici, Joshua King and Filippo Costa all joining.

Howe hopes to bring in more new faces, however, telling reporters: "We're aware of what we want, we're trying to get the right players for the right price and that's a never-ending battle really.

"In terms of numbers I wouldn't want to put a figure on it, it's just trying to get the balance of the squad right, and I think we are short in a couple of areas, so that's what we're looking to put right."

Bournemouth get their maiden Premier League campaign underway on August 8 when they take on Aston Villa.
