Brentford confirm the £10m addition of Brazilian wonderkid Gustavo Nunes from Gremio, making the 18-year-old the club's fourth signing of the summer transfer window.

Brentford have confirmed the permanent signing of winger Gustavo Nunes from Brazilian club Gremio.

The Bees have agreed to pay a fee in excess of £10m to sign Nunes, who has reportedly been scouted by the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

Nunes has put pen to paper on a six-year contract, with an option for Brentford to extend by a further two years.

The 18-year-old becomes Brentford's fourth addition of the summer transfer window following the arrivals of Igor Thiago, Fabio Carvalho and Sepp van den Berg.

Frank comments on "exciting" signing

Nunes graduated from Gremio's academy system before he went on to make 40 competitive appearances for the first team, contributing seven goals and four assists.

While Nunes is still in the early stages of his career, Brentford boss Thomas Frank believes that it is an "exciting" signing for the club.

"I am very excited that we have managed to sign Gustavo," Frank told the club's official website. "It is another good signing; we have fought with other clubs.

"He is a winger who can go past players one-on-one. He is direct and he can create. Gustavo has a lot of potential and of course, we need to maximise that in every aspect. He needs time to settle, but this is a very exciting signing."

Nunes delighted to "complete" dream move

Following his unveiling as a Brentford player, the winger admitted that it is his "dream" to play in the Premier League.

"I am really looking forward to playing in the Premier League," Nunes said. "It has always been my dream to play in this league, so I have the pleasure of joining this competition.

"Brentford was the first club to make an offer. I had a really good conversation with representatives and it was the club I chose. It is an incredible feeling. I am glad to be here at such a huge club.

"Thomas Frank is a manager who will help me improve a lot; he will help me do a good job and grow. Brentford fans can expect to see a lot of one-on-one dribbling, speed and goals!

"I want to thank all of the supporters for the warm welcome and I hope to see you soon, scoring goals and bringing happiness to you."

Brentford are set to face Colchester United in Wednesday's EFL Cup tie, before they turn their focus to Saturday's Premier League home clash with Southampton.
