Matthew Upson: 'We are in a great position'

Brighton & Hove Albion defender Matthew Upson believes that the club are in a "great position", despite failing to overcome Blackpool on Easter Monday.

Brighton & Hove Albion defender Matthew Upson has insisted that they can still earn a place in the Championship playoffs, despite their draw against Blackpool on Easter Monday.

The point ensured that the Seagulls failed to open up a significant advantage over the chasing pack, and Reading's win over Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening saw Albion drop to seventh position.

However, with two games still to go, Upson is keen to ensure that his side remain in a positive frame of mind as they try to win promotion to the Premier League for the first time.

The 35-year-old told BBC Sussex: "We have got to be careful that we don't get too disappointed as we are still in a great position and it is all to play for.

"We are far from out of it and we are still in a great position."

Brighton host Yeovil Town on Friday evening before travelling to Nottingham Forest on the final day of the season.
