The Football Association has charged Burnley midfielder Joey Barton with betting offences.
The controversial midfielder, who recently signed a deal with Burnley until the end of the season, is alleged to have placed 1,260 bets on football matches between March 2006 and May 2016.
The news follows the charge that Barton received from the Scottish Football Association in October, when he was alleged to have broken rules in relation to Celtic's Champions League clash with Barcelona at Camp Nou in September.
According to Sky Sports News, the FA has only recently concluded its investigation after being informed of Barton's misconduct, which breaks FA rule E8, by an undisclosed bookmaker.
Barton has until January 5, 2017 to respond to the latest charge.
