Neil Lennon expects better performance from Celtic

Neil Lennon wants more from his players as they look to the return encounter with Shakhter Karagandy in their Champions League qualifier next week.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has called upon some members of his squad as his side needed to come from two goals down to earn a point against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The hosts were staring at two defeats in three days, but Charlie Mulgrew's goal and a late strike from Adam Matthews saw the game finish level, but Lennon does not want to see his side drop points on a regular basis.

"[I] Said to players afterwards: if you are coming into team you have to perform. Some did and some didn't," he told Celticfc.net.

Meanwhile, Lennon has suggested that Celtic's injury woes may have worsened ahead of the return leg of their Champions League qualifier against Shakhter Karagandy, with Berem Kayal limping off during the first half against Inverness.

"[I] think he'll be out," he added. "[He] Has a groin strain. Virgil [van Dijk] felt a bit of twinge in hamstring, so really stretched but we get on with it."

Celtic are the favourites to win the Scottish Premiership title this season.
