Fernandinho: 'Shakhtar Donetsk will defeat Chelsea'

Fernandinho claims that he has to win the midfield battle against Ramires for Shakhtar Donetsk to defeat Chelsea at home on Tuesday.

Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fernandinho is confident that they can defeat Chelsea in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Ukrainian champions will host the defending European champions at the Donbass Arena in Group E.

"We will be playing the Champions League winners but we will do everything to beat them," the 27-year-old is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

"I'm particularly looking forward to playing against the great Ramires, who I have played alongside in the [Brazil] national team. If I succeed in that battle, then I believe Shakhtar will win.

"This season we are the strongest ever. I think we will beat Chelsea in both games.

Shakhtar and Chelsea both have picked up four points from their opening two group matches.
