Dave Kemp: 'Jose Mourinho congratulated Crystal Palace players'

Jose Mourinho congratulated Crystal Palace's players in their dressing room at the end of today's game, according to the Eagles' assistant manager Dave Kemp.

Crystal Palace assistant manager Dave Kemp has revealed that Jose Mourinho entered the Eagles dressing room following their victory over Chelsea to offer his congratulations.

Palace came out 1-0 winners at Selhurst Park courtesy of a second-half John Terry own goal, meaning that the Blues missed out on the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.

"Jose came and congratulated our players. I thought that was very classy," Kemp is quoted as saying by the London Evening Standard. "Tony [Pulis] is probably having a nice glass of wine, celebrating this win.

"Our players have put in a magnificent effort today. They've been rightly rewarded and for him to recognise their effort I thought was very good.

"It's big for the club and it's big for the players. When you beat a top team it gives them that little bit more confidence, credibility and belief to go on. It will be very important for this group of players and the club."

The victory lifts Palace five points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.
