Neil Warnock reveals his disgust at the way that Chelsea have dealt with the controversy surrounding referee Mark Clattenburg.

Leeds United manager Neil Warnock has launched a scathing attack on the way that Chelsea have conducted themselves over the ongoing Mark Clattenburg saga.

Referee Clattenburg is being investigated by both the police and the Football Association following claims that he used inappropriate language towards two Chelsea players during their 3-2 loss to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

However, Warnock feels that there would have been no complaints lodged had the Blues won the encounter.

"You know my relationship with referees but I have got to say I am disgusted with what's gone on. I'm on Mark Clattenburg's side," said Warnock.

"We ask referees to man-manage and that's what he does. I'm sure he might have said a few things but are you telling me if Chelsea had won that game that there would have been one iota of a complaint?

"He's not had the best of games but the Torres one was the one decision he got slightly wrong. I think he has made a mistake but they are trying to kill him and I don't agree with that at all."

Clattenburg will not officiate a Premier League match this weekend while the investigations take place.
