Arsene Wenger: 'Eden Hazard must add consistency to become a great'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claims that Chelsea's Eden Hazard will not find himself in the top bracket of elite players until he adds consistency to his game.

Arsene Wenger has insisted that Eden Hazard must add further consistency to his game if he is to be considered among the world's best.

The Belgium international starred for Chelsea last season as he went on to claim the Player of the Year award.

However, Arsenal boss Wenger believes that Hazard still has some way to go before he can be ranked alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

"He can decide the games and you always put the top players in this kind of calibre, when they can decide games by creating something special," he is quoted as saying by The Telegraph.

"Hazard is in that category. To reach the other two or three who are dominating world football at the moment I think it demands consistency and that is what he still has to do.

"It is all about opinions. You have to compare the numbers and players like Messi and Ronaldo still score 50 goals per season, that is absolutely exceptional."

Hazard, who scored 19 goals for Chelsea in all competitions last season, is expected to start against Arsenal in Sunday afternoon's Community Shield clash.
