Aston Villa are reportedly prepared to spend as much as £40m on Tammy Abraham this summer, as the striker prepares to leave Chelsea in search of regular football.
The 23-year-old scored 12 times in 32 appearances for the Blues during the 2020-21 campaign but struggled for action in the latter stages of the season.
Abraham has allegedly been told that he is free to depart during this summer's transfer window, and West Ham United have been strongly linked with the England international.
However, according to The Mirror, Villa are currently in the driving seat, with Dean Smith's side preparing a big-money offer for the striker.
The report claims that Villa are prepared to make a £40m bid for Abraham, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at Villa Park during the 2018-19 campaign, scoring 25 Championship goals to help the club earn promotion.
The Englishman has scored 30 goals and registered 12 assists in 82 appearances for Chelsea and still has two years left to run on his contract with Thomas Tuchel's team.
