Chelsea decide against recalling winger Callum Hudson-Odoi early from his loan move at Bayer Leverkusen to help improve their faltering attack.

Chelsea have decided against recalling Callum Hudson-Odoi early from his loan deal with Bayer Leverkusen.

Hudson-Odoi signed for the German side in the summer on a season-long loan after struggling to make an impact under former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel.

The winger failed to receive any minutes in the Premier League in Chelsea's first five games this season but his time at Leverkusen has been vastly different given he has started 11 of his 15 appearances so far.

According to the SportBILD, the news was confirmed by Leverkusen's sporting director Simon Rolfes, who praised the young winger as "very important" to the Bundesliga club for the rest of the season.

Despite regular injury issues last season, Hudson-Odoi started 22 out of his 28 appearances across the season, featuring regularly in the domestic cups as well as the European Super Cup and Club World Cup.

Over the course of his Chelsea career he has 126 appearances, coupled with 16 goals and 22 assists, as well as winning the Champions League, European Super Cup, Club World Cup, Europa League and FA Cup with the London club.
