Chelsea to move for Julian Draxler in January?

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly prepared to part with £25m to sign Schalke 04 forward Julian Draxler in January.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on signing Schalke 04 forward Julian Draxler.

The 20-year-old had already attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester City after scoring 13 goals in 39 appearances last season.

Schalke general manager Horst Heldt has insisted that Draxler will stay in Gelsenkirchen for the remainder of the current campaign, but Mourinho could be ready to test the German's resolve in January.

According to the Daily Star, Mourinho is proposing a £25m bid when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

Draxler, who has been capped seven times by Germany at senior international level, is under contract at Schalke until June 2018.
