The battle between the sides propping up the MLS league tables has fittingly ended without a winner.
Dallas of the Western Conference, whose last victory came on April 15 against Montreal Impact, marginally shaded today's game against Eastern Conference counterparts Toronto.
They were ahead after five minutes as Andrew Jacobson flicked on a corner kick, which had been needlessly conceded by former Manchester United defender Richard Eckersley, and Zach Loyd nodded the ball into the bottom-right corner.
The lead lasted just 26 minutes before Danny Koevermans tapped home Eric Avila's cross from close range.
Dallas reacted well to falling behind, but Fabian Castillo and Jacobson both spurned gilt-edged chances to restore the hosts' lead before half-time.
After 35 minutes of a forgettable second half, the game reignited in the dying stages as Julian de Guzman and Koevermans both went close to snatching victory for Toronto.
