Deportivo La Coruna moved six points clear of the relegation zone in La Liga with a 2-0 victory over Eibar in Riazor tonight.

Lucas Perez capitalised on goalkeeper Xabi Irureta's 52nd-minute error to volley into an empty net following a dismal first-half display from both sides in Riazor.

Ivan Cavaleiro added a second in sloppy fashion on 80 minutes as Victor Fernandez's side recorded back-to-back La Liga wins for the first time this season.

Below, relive all of the action with our text commentary.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen and thanks for tuning into our text commentary of Eibar's trip to Deportivo La Coruna. I'm Shane, but you can call me Señor Callaghan and I'll be bringing you all of the action from the Estadio Riazor tonight. There's a bit to chew on this evening, but first let's get some team news, shall we? Why not. Stay tuned.

DEPORTIVO XI: Fabricio; Juanfran, Lopo, Insua, Luisinho; Bergantinos, Borges, Cuenca, Cavaleiro; Lucas, Riera

EIBAR XI: Irureta; Boveda, Ekiza, Capa, Arruabarrena; Borja, Dani Garcia, Berjon, Navas, Vila, Piovaccari

DEPORTIVO SUBS: Lux, Dominguez, Laure, Touche, Medunjanin, Lopez, Costa

EIBAR SUBS: Jaime, Angel, Nieto, Lara, Boateng, Lekic, Anibarro

We'll start with the hosts and I can confirm that Deportivo make just the one change from their 2-1 win over Rayo Vallecano last time out, and Sidnei drops out of central defence for Pablo Insua. Striker Oriol Riera - on loan from Wigan - leads the line as he looks for his first goal back in La Liga.

On to Eibar now and Garitano makes FIVE changes from their 3-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid last week. Suspension rules Lillo and Abraham Minero out of this one, while Manu del Moral drops out through injury. Txema Añibarro and Jon Errasti both drop to the bench. Let's have a look at the visitors tonight shall we?

Eibar have been arguably the story in La Liga so far this season. The Armeros had never participated in Spain's top flight prior to this season, but they sit eighth in the table after what has proven a fantastic first half of the campaign. There have been one or two signs recently that all is not well, with Gaizka Garitano's side winning just one point from their last three games. They only sit nine point clear of the relegation zone, too, so it's certainly not too late to find themselves in a battle for their top-flight survival.

Victory is huge both teams actually, because Deportivo, unlike their Basque counterpart, are definitely in a relegation dogfight. Victor Fernandez's side find themselves 14th in La Liga, just three points above the drop zone, but they've enjoyed a fine 2015 thus far.

In fact, Barcelona are the only side to beat them this year - 4-0 win here two weeks ago. Other than that they've beaten Rayo Vallecano and Athletic Bilbao, and drawn against Granada and Levante. Not bad at all, but they'll need to follow up that win over Rayo last week. It's perhaps a benefit playing on a Friday; a chance to pile the pressure on their rivals by moving SIX points clear of danger. They're not lacking incentive, anyway.

PREDICTION: Right, so we're only five minutes kickoff, which can only mean one thing: it's time to get a pre-match prediction dreadfully wrong. And I'm going for a Deportivo win tonight. As good as Eibar have been this season, they've been sloppy in recent games and I think Deportivo will pile more pressure on them and drag them back into the relegation zone. Score? Let's go 3-1 to the hosts.

Right, the players are making their way on to the field and we're minutes away now. To put into context how cold it is in Riazor, you can see the steam off the players' breath! #thermals

Two old people kick a ball to a very lukewarm applause inside a sparse Estadio Riazor. We're being delayed slightly but we'll be underway in the coming minutes.

KICKOFF: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand we're off in Riazor, my friends. This will be a good game. I feel it in my waters. Let's go.

Looks like we're seeing a 4-5-1 of sorts from Deportivo, with Lucas playing just in behind target man Oriol Riera, who is yet to score since joining the club on loan from Wigan last month.

We've seen a dodgy moment already, and it's Eibar defender Borja Ekiza, who plays a woeful backpass to goalkeeper Iruretagoiena Xabier, who just about beats Riera before clearing the danger. It is very cold as we mentioned so perhaps Ekiza's legs are frozen.

Seven minutes in then and we're yet to see much by way of goalscoring chances, with both sides still figuring one another out in these early stages. Deportivo bossing possession and they've got a corner now. Let's see what comes of this...

It's a decent corner from Borges, who swings his delivery into the near post, but Eibar avert the danger comfortably enough.

CHANCE!!! This isn't far away at all, and it's Borges, who left the corner duties to Cuenca to get himself into the box, and it very nearly paid off as he heads narrowly over the bar from about seven yards. First chance goes to Deportivo and, well, it should be 1-0.

You can see why Cuenca never made it at Barcelona, because he's just swung in a cross to the invisible man. Surely he learned to use the ball better than that at La Masia? Having said that, I went to a good school and got nothing out of it so I can sympathise with him.

Deportivo are pressing their Basque counterparts really well so far, and Eibar have barely ventured out of their own half as of yet. Still, all this possession won't count for a lot if the hosts fail to stick it in the net.

Good defending from Lopo to snuff out Eibar's first real attack, as Berjon looks to play Piovaccari in on goal but the Spanish defender is back to avert the danger. Promising for the visitors.

Incidentally, Deportivo won the reverse fixture this season, a 1-0 win at Eibar, and we could see a similar scoreline this evening because it looks set to be a very tight affair.

Credit to the Deportivo fans, because there's not a lot of them in for this one, but the ones that have made the effort are certainly making themselves heard.

SAVE! We've seen the first bit of goalkeeping action, as Capa found himself with space down the right-hand flank, but his cross is too close to Fabricio, who parries away to safety. Piovaccarri should be furious because he had pulled away and just needed a cut-back to slot home.

PENALTY APPEAL: Deportivo want a penalty, but it's a free kick just outside the box after Vila was adjudged to have handle Cuenca's cross. Good decision I think. Let's see what comes from this...

Nothing, as Borges' delivery fails to beat the first man. How do you say 'waste' in Spanish?

SHOT! Not bad at all from Juanfran, as the veteran right-back marauds down the wing before cutting inside and looks to curl beyond Irureta, but the keeper takes it comfortably. Fine effort though.

SAVE! Fabulous save from Irureta and this one from Juanfran is much closer, as the defender launches a ferocious left-footed shot, but the Eibar keeper just manages to tip it over the bar. It's coming to life a little more now.

Left-back Luisinho wins a free kick in a promising position now and Deportivo really must make more of these chances. They've been woeful from deadball situations thus far, but let's see if they can put things right here...

Ugh, it's Ivan Cavaleiro, who goes for goal when surely the better option was to float it into the box? Shocker. It beat the wall, but somebody was on hand to head it clear.

Incidentally, that was the sixth shot of the game and they've all come from Deportivo. It's obvious who the better team is so far, but as we said before, shots and possession mean nothing unless they make it count.

Five minutes until the break then and it's been a rather slow first half I think it's fair to say? Eibar certainly don't look a team who sit eighth in La Liga - especially considering it's their first season in Spain's top flight!

6-0 in shots and Eibar also trail 61-39 in the possession stakes. Deportivo completely dominant, but only one real chance to speak of, and it looks like we're going into the break goalless unfortunately. I say unfortunately because, well, this one really needs a goal.

HALF TIME: DEPORTIVO 0-0 EIBAR

There's only one word that I can use to sum up that half, and it's one I'm not allowed to use because this is a family commentary, but good grief. Suffice to say it's been a slow first 45 minutes, my friends.

Celso Borges had the best, and only, chance of that first half when he headed Lopo's flick-on over the bar in what really should've brought a goal. Juanfran had one or two good efforts, with his second particularly close, but other than that we've seen very, very little by way of goal-mouth action, ladies and gents.

Eibar have been useless. They go into half time with 38% possession and without so much as a shot in 45 minutes. They've defied their tag of pre-season favourites for relegation for much of the season, by virtue of the fact they sit eighth, but this first-half performances won't warm the hearts of many of their fans on a bitterly cold night in Riazor.

RESTART! Right, we're back underway. Eibar, the men in black, get us underway. Unfortunately they're not the real Men in Black otherwise they could use that memory-forgetting device on me after that silly first half. The only way is up, my friends.

CLOSE! Now this is more like it, as Oriol leaps highest to connect with a Borges free kick, and the resulting header had Irureta scrambling across goal, but his effort went just wide in the end. As you were from that first half then, with Deportivo firmly on top.

Deportivo will whip this into the box now as Boveda concedes a cheap free kick with a silly handball, but it's headed harmlessly out of play by Lopo. At least the delivery has looked a little better so far because it was rubbish in the first half.

GOAL!!!!!!! DEPORTIVO 1-0 EIBAR (Lucas)

We needed this, and we've finally seen a goal. It's an error from goalkeeper Irureta, who comes out to claim Juanfran's cross and fumbles, allowing Lucas to volley into an empty net from just outside the box. Shame, because Irureta had quite a good game up until that point.

DOUBLE BOOKING: Lucas, who scored a minute ago, now goes into the book to cap an eventful few minutes after tangling with Dani Garcia, who was also booked.

CHANCE! Could, and should, be 2-0 my friends. Ivan Cavaleiro glances his header well over the bar from close range following Lucas's brilliant cross.

Ugh, such a waste from Cavaleiro, who got himself into a good crossing position but, with three blue and white shirts to pick out, flashes his ball across goal and it trickles out for a throw-in.

EIBAR SUB: We've seen the first substitution of the game then as Javi Lara - no relation to Brian - replaces Capa on the right wing. Eibar probably need more than one sub to give them a kick up the you know what because they've been dreadful.

BOOKING: 2-1 to Deportivo in the yellow card stakes as Pablo Insua clatters Saul Berjon and has found himself correctly booked.

It's like waiting for a bus! Eibar register their first two shots of the game, but they're both stinkers and both are blocked, with the latter blocked by one of their own players. Sums up the night.

DEPORTIVO SUB: Former Barcelona man Isaac Cuenca is called ashore in favour of Helder Costa. He can't do much worse than Cuenca to be fair.

Deportivo look completely comfortable, but with 23 minutes left they really need a second goal to make sure of the win, don't they? They can't rest on their laurels due to how narrow their advantage is, regardless how much they're in control.

We said Deportivo need a second goal, and that urgency has intensified in recent minutes as Eibar grow progressively stronger. They're yet to threaten an equaliser, but you wouldn't be at all surprised if they snatch one because it's going that way at the moment.

EIBAR SUB: The visitors make their second sub now as Dejan Lekic replaces Mikel Arruabarrena for the last 15 minutes or so. Can he inspire Eibar to an equaliser? No idea, but let's find out.

If you've just joined us then a) you're extremely lucky to have missed the first 75 minutes, and b) we're separated by Lucas Perez's 52nd-minute goal as Deportivo lead 1-0 in a very ordinary game of football.

GOAL!!!!!!!!! DEPORTIVO 2-0 EIBAR (Ivan Cavaleiro)

That's going to be it, my friends, and it's another dreadful error as Borja Ekiza executes a woeful back-pass for the second time in the game, and this time it's costly as Cavaleiro beats Irureta to the ball before scrambling home the second. Sloppy, but Deportivo won't care. 2-0 and they've deserved it.

Well it's 60-40 to Depor in the possession stakes, which should just about sum up how poor Eibar have been. Unless they mess this up big-time, then Deportivo are going up to 11th and SIX points clear of the relegation zone. What a boost that will be.

SHOT! Looks like Oriol Riera wants in on the act, but he drags his long-range effort horrendously wide of the goal. He's been quite poor all night to be fair.

I can't fathom how Eibar ever found themselves eighth in La Liga; a magnificent achievement, considering it's their first season in the top flight, but they've looked so ordinary tonight. Amazing.

THREE MINUTES ADDED ON:

Ugh, Riera should've done better with his final ball here, with Borja waiting to tap home if the cross found him, but didn't. Another poor choice by the striker.

FULL TIME: DEPORTIVO LA CORUNA 2-0 EIBAR

Well, that's that. Eibar were shocking and Deportivo secure a deserved 2-0 victory that takes them up to 11th in the table - and SIX points clear. They could be three points clear by Monday, depending on how their rivals get on, but they've done all they can do to pressure them so fair play to Victor Fernandez and his boys.

Anywho, that's all we've got time for today, my friends. Cheers for tuning in and we'll catch you next time. Enjoy the weekend.
