Alex Pritchard ruled out of European Under-21 Championship

Alex Pritchard will play no part in the European Under-21 Championship due to injury.

The Football Association has confirmed that Alex Pritchard has been ruled out of the European Under-21 Championship.

The 22-year-old was injured in the second half of England Under-21s' 1-0 victory over Sweden on Sunday evening.

His manager Gareth Southgate previously admitted that the injury did not look good and he will now play no further part in the tournament.

England, who will play Italy in their final group match on Wednesday, are not allowed to call up a replacement for Pritchard.
