Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is being eyed as the top candidate to replace David Moyes at Everton when he leaves at the end of the season, according to a report.

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is reportedly the top candidate to replace the outgoing David Moyes at Everton.

Following the Latics' triumph in the FA Cup final, the Toffees will move to secure Martinez when the Scot leaves to manage Manchester United at the end of the season.

However, the 39-year-old will face competition from Phil Neville and Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay, who are also on chairman Bill Kenwright's shortlist, according to The Mirror.

Martinez has turned down approaches from Aston Villa and Liverpool in the last two years.
