Fulham boss Felix Magath: 'Relegation frightens me'

Fulham boss Felix Magath admits that the thought of being relegated for the first time in his career scares him.

Fulham manager Felix Magath has admitted that the prospect of relegation to the Championship frightens him.

The Cottagers, who have spent 13 consecutive seasons in the top flight, could be condemned to second-tier football next term should they lose to Stoke City this weekend.

However, Magath is confident that six points from Fulham's remaining two games will be enough to ensure Premier League survival, admitting that keeping the team up will be the biggest achievement of his career.

"I have never been relegated and I am a bit afraid of the situation, I don't know how it feels to be relegated," The Mirror quotes him as saying. "I'm afraid for the club, not for my personal record. I have nothing to prove in my career.

"I knew it was a difficult situation when I came here. I'm confident I can manage it. I worry a little bit about the last matches but I'm confident we can make it better on Saturday at Stoke."

Fulham head into the Stoke game in 19th place in the table, with 31 points from 36 matches.
