Shaun Maloney 'to fly in later today to join Hull City'

Shaun Maloney will reportedly fly in from Chicago later today to seal a move to Hull City.

Chicago Fire midfielder Shaun Maloney is expected to fly into England later today ahead of sealing a move to Hull City.

Tigers boss Steve Bruce said yesterday that the Scotland international was close to moving to the KC Stadium, and according to BBC Sport a deal could be completed imminently.

The 32-year-old had been reported to be keen on a return to English football after leaving Wigan Athletic for the MLS outfit in January.

However, even if the signing is completed today Maloney will not be eligible for Hull's game at Charlton Athletic tomorrow afternoon.

Former Celtic and Aston Villa man Maloney would become Bruce's fourth permanent signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Sam Clucas, Ryan Taylor and Moses Odubajo.
