Leeds United to appoint Steve Evans as new manager?

Leeds United are ready to replace Uwe Rosler with former Rotherham United boss Steve Evans, according to a report.

Former Rotherham United boss Steve Evans will reportedly replace outgoing Leeds United chief Uwe Rosler at Elland Road.

Reports emerged on Monday morning suggesting that Rosler had been sacked after just five months in charge of the Whites.

Leeds have since confirmed this speculation, and according to The Telegraph the wheels are already in motion to bring in a successor over the coming days.

Evans, who guided Rotherham to two promotions during his time in charge, is said to be the favourite to take over having been spotted at the club's training ground this morning.

Speaking to Sky Sports News earlier this month, the Scotsman admitted that he was looking for a quick return to management.

"I don't need a break," he said. "Myself and my assistant (Paul Raynor) are ready to go back to work but it has to be the right club at the right time. We don't need to be employed by the wrong club tomorrow. We'd love to be at the right club tomorrow."

Leeds have made a slow start to the Championship season, winning just two of their opening 11 games to find themselves down in 18th place.
