Ex-Rotherham United boss Steve Evans wants instant return to management

Steve Evans wants to get another job in management as soon as possible after he parted company with Rotherham United on Monday.

Steve Evans has declared his interest in returning to management as soon as possible after he parted company with Rotherham United.

Despite seemingly turning Rotherham's season around and moving out of the Championship's bottom three with back-to-back wins, Evans left the club yesterday because he and the board have different ambitions.

Evans, who led Rotherham to successive promotions before keeping them in the Championship last season, said today that he is keen to get another job.

"I don't need a break," Evans told Sky Sports News. "Myself and my assistant (Paul Raynor) are ready to go back to work but it has to be the right club at the right time. We don't need to be employed by the wrong club tomorrow. We'd love to be at the right club tomorrow."

The 52-year-old has been linked with the vacant Dundee United and Motherwell jobs in Scotland.
