Jordan Henderson, Alberto Moreno to miss next two games

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirms that captain Jordan Henderson and defender Alberto Moreno will miss at least the next two games through injury.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that captain Jordan Henderson and defender Alberto Moreno will miss his side's next two matches due to injury.

Henderson limped off with a hamstring strain after just 13 minutes of Friday's 3-3 draw with Arsenal and missed the 5-0 Boxing Day win over Swansea City as a result, while Moreno has been sidelined since December 6.

The Reds take on Leicester City on Saturday before visiting Burnley on New Year's Day - a spell of two games in the space of just three days - and Klopp confirmed that neither will recover in time for the quickfire double-header.

"Length of time [on their returns], actually I have no idea to be honest – but it won't be tomorrow. Both are out for the next two games for sure," he told reporters.

"On December 30 and January 1, they have no chance, then we have to see again."

Liverpool currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, one point clear of Tottenham Hotspur.
